Christmas Crackers – 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

GIB7078

Description

Tom Smith invented Crackers in 1847, originally as a sugar coated almond (bon bon) wrapped in a twist of tissue paper and including a ‘love motto’.  In 1850 the almonds were replaced with toys, trinkets and jewellery and by 1860, the cracker became more or less what it is today, complete with the “crack” that starts many a Christmas dinner!

One big change over the years is the style of packaging and before today’s more minimalist style of presentation, the boxes were printed with brightly coloured illustrations.   Some examples of these have been used by our designer Beryl Peters to create this beautiful jigsaw puzzle.

As with all Gibsons jigsaws, the beautifully illustrated pieces are made from the highest quality 100% recycled board and therefore a pleasure to work with again and again.
