  • The German Type II submarines were the first new models completed for the North Sea and Baltic coastal service after the end of the First World War .
    The type IIs had powerful engines , were very maneuverable and can dive in 25 seconds .
    After only four months of production submarine was launched .
    By the end of 1936, the German submarine forces had more than 24 available.
    Considered as the  canoe” because of the narrowness of the proverbial places on board , some of the total 50 submarines made were still in service in the Black Sea in early 1944.
    The German Navy training fleets were using this type until the war ended in 1945.
