The 2019 Dakar Rally was the 41st year of the event and the eleventh year in a row that it took place in South America. The event started in Lima, Peru on January 6 and ended there on January 17 after 10 stages of competition.
The 2019 model has undergone further changes. Overall, they improved weight distribution, including a new swingarm, tie rod and shock with a new airbox, fuel tanks and seat. There were also Akrapovic exhaust changes that shortened and lowered the exhaust, as well as increased power coming from a revised cylinder head, a new fuel injection system and a new gearbox.
