Judging by the number of visitors each year, Castle Combe is certainly considered to be one of England’s prettiest villages. The only evidence of the original site of the castle is the earthworks on higher ground above the village itself. Originally a British hill fort, it was later taken over by the Romans and then enlarged into a castle by the Normans. The beauty of the village owes much to the ‘By Brook’ river, which in the middle ages had a more practical purpose of providing power for the booming wool industry
- As with all Gibsons jigsaws, they use 100% recycled puzzle board, FSC paper and work with the best artists from all around the world. The beautifully illustrated pieces are designed to fit perfectly together; in fact, they use the thickest puzzle board on the market. Everyone loves a Gibsons jigsaw, even Her Majesty the Queen has been spotted with one.
- Gibsons have made some positive changes to their processes, so you can be sure you’re getting the same great puzzles and know that they are kinder to the environment. Not only does the box have a fresh new look, but they have used biodegradable clear labels to secure the lid instead of shrink wrap to reduce our plastic waste. There is a gloss coating on the box for extra protection and the puzzle pieces are stored in a plastic bag that can be recycled by most councils.
- Because the box is slightly smaller than previous designs, they need less room to transport their products which reduces our carbon footprint and means you can store your puzzles more easily. They have also popped an artwork poster inside for you to reference whilst you piece together your lovely jigsaw puzzle.
