The Green Goddess ‘self-propelled emergency pump’ was developed as the standard fire fighting vehicle for civil defence in the 1950’s.  Built to replace the wartime fire engine of the Auxiliary Fire Service (AFS), the Green Goddess was designed for fire fighting in the aftermath of a nuclear attack as part of a ‘mobile fighting column’ that would be accessible in any part of the country and terrain.  Typically they were painted green but with exceptions such as Northern Ireland AFS which were yellow to distinguish them from the military.

The Corgi Trackside collection features a great selection on die-cast road transport vehicles with authentic liveries ideal for both the 1:76 scale collector and the OO railway modeller.  The Trackside range is the perfect accessory for a railway layout or a themed diorama.
