- Through Aer Lingus Commuter, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aer Lingus founded in 1984, Aer Lingus flew short-haul destinations in Ireland and England, not with jets, but with five Belfast-built Short 360s and six Fokker 50s. At Aer Lingus Commuter, which was incorporated into the parent company in 2001, four Saab 340Bs replaced the aging Short 360s.
The EI-BEK was built in 1983 and flew for Aer Lingus Commuter until 1993. After that, the aircraft was used by Bon-Accord Airways, Manx Airlines and BAC Express Airlines, among others, and was scrapped in 2009.
