Some would call it organised chaos. Old tins of paint that were last used years ago, rusty tins of screws and nails, bottles of varnish, and pots of dried up putty are kept just in case. This Aladdin’s cave, with its own special smells, wood shavings and cobwebs is Grandad’s haven.
Regrettably this wonderful image is tinged with sadness, because this is Michael Herring’s very last painting to be published as a Gibsons jigsaw. Michael Herring passed away in August 2010 and his unique style of painting will be missed by all those who have enjoyed his pictures and puzzles over many years.
- As with all Gibsons jigsaws, they use 100% recycled puzzle board, FSC paper and work with the best artists from all around the world. The beautifully illustrated pieces are designed to fit perfectly together; in fact, they use the thickest puzzle board on the market. Everyone loves a Gibsons jigsaw, even Her Majesty the Queen has been spotted with one.
- Gibsons have made some positive changes to their processes, so you can be sure you’re getting the same great puzzles and know that they are kinder to the environment. Not only does the box have a fresh new look, but they have used biodegradable clear labels to secure the lid instead of shrink wrap to reduce our plastic waste. There is a gloss coating on the box for extra protection and the puzzle pieces are stored in a plastic bag that can be recycled by most councils.
- Because the box is slightly smaller than previous designs, they need less room to transport their products which reduces our carbon footprint and means you can store your puzzles more easily. They have also popped an artwork poster inside for you to reference whilst you piece together your lovely jigsaw puzzle.
